Track 6days Gent Kuipke

23RD OF NOVEMBER

It was very dark day. Clouds everywhere around, it was drizzling right from the morning and wind has almost blew me and my bike of path.

It was very dark day. Clouds everywhere around, it was drizzling right from the morning and wind has almost blew me and my bike of path. This was just the right start of the journey to Gent, Belgium. My first ever participation in 6 days track event.
I have heard a lot of stories about the Kuipke track but none could prepare me for what it is like in real life. Mind-blowing rollercoaster that grabs you, only to spit you out of the corner in matter of seconds. Dynamic, thrilling and super entertaining track. There wasn't much time to play around before my start, but .... my oh my! I have enjoyed it so much. Just when I thought it cannot get any better, I was on the start line, getting ready to make some spectacle in this 75th anniversary Gent 6days. And right away I was providing audiences with a personal touch. I have pushed into the pedals as hard as I could and suddenly one clipped out. I guess I have had to taste the track to find out how it really was. Luckily my start was repeated and I could smash it full speed into the corners enjoying every single millimetre of the 500m TT on the World oldest wooden track. After a few minutes, the event continued with individual pursuit. I was so happy to be riding with legend of paracycling, great athlete and friend Jiří Ježek. The event would not be as great as it was without him. I would like to say very special thank you to Schelfhout Diederic for inviting me and everybody else and to the organisers for allowing us to enjoy such fantastic event. At the end I d like to thank to my friends that made this weekend into awesome experience in Gent, to my sponsors and the team around helping me on my way to RIO 2016. - Royce UK, NewLaw Solicitors, Beeline Bicycles, Pace Rehabilitation, 42 degrees coaching, Custom cycle coaching, MTBiker.sk, Art4web | New Media Design and Projex UK
