Slovakian and Czech National Championships was super rainy this year. It was great to see huge attendance, about 180 riders including super stars and World Tour riders including Peter Sagan, Juraj Sagan, Michael Kolar, Martin Velits, Petr Vakoc, Leopold Konig, Roman Kreuziger and other top riders. I have finished in 10th place in Slovakian Championship and 31st overall loosing 1min 37s to the winner Peter Sagan. The race was chaos in the rain right from the beginning. It was raining senseless. I could not see a ..... well anything. There was zero visibility with shades on so I took em off. Obviously I could see tiny bit better while blinking my eyes 100 times a minute. And there was mud everywhere, in my eyes, mouth .... Total havoc. Riders were falling off bikes like ripe apples. Luckily somewhere in front of me and I had a chance and huge luck to avoid all collisions. I have managed to stay on the bike and when everything calmed down my only job was to seek how to save energy. I was fairly OK in the hills, a bit scared on the way down. As I have mentioned, many riders and it looked to me as somebody was hitting the deck all the time. Weather improved near the end and I could open the throttle on the way down too. In final 20 kilometres the main group was smashing it and I managed to stay in. It could be potentially better than 10th but I am super happy with top 10 in this star packed Slovakian Nationals 2015.
